Michele Smith of Oxford Mills, Ontario, Canada had no idea that her life is going to dramatically change after she entered the Mac's Convenience store, located on North Rideau Road in Kemptville, where she purchased an Ontario Instant Millions scratch card game.
Officials at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) confirmed on Monday that Michele Smith has won one of the three $1 Million prizes that were guaranteed for players of the Ontario Instant Millions scratch card.
The Ontario Instant Millions scratchcard was issued by the OLG towards the end of 2010 and offered players the chance to become an instant win millionaire, with all prizes needing to be claimed by July 31st 2012.
The scratchcard was priced at $5 and offered a 1 in 4.91 chance of winning and payout percentage of 66.57%.
While claiming her big prize Mrs. Smith told OLG officials that "I screamed at the top of my lungs after scratching the ticket and realizing the prize was so large".
OLG has issued a press release stating that Mrs. Smith is dealing well with the win although she is still digesting the life-changing news "It still hasn't sunk in yet. I feel great!", however the OLG also stated that according to them Mrs. Smith already knows what to do with her winnings.
